Stripping

‘Stripping’ is when steam, an inert gas or a hydrocarbon gas is passed through a liquid to remove components, such as contaminants, from the liquid. Roots Systems supplies circulator packages in aluminium bronze or other corrosion-resistant alloy for these processes.

Deoxygenation / Deaeration of Sea Water

Offshore facilities use high-pressure pumps to inject sea water into oil wells, forcing the oil out of the well. This sea water must be de-oxygenated before it can be injected into the well. The Minox process is a circulation process which involves blowing ultra-pure nitrogen through the sea water. The nitrogen picks up the oxygen. The nitrogen and oxygen mixture is then passed through a catalyst to remove the oxygen.
