The Fitter/Fabrication Operative is responsible for the fabrication and tacking of light to medium gauge steel in line with the detailed engineering drawings provided, occasionally liaising with other departments of the fabrication shop to ensure the fabrication is to the standard required.

For this role you will need to have experience of working in a fabrication environment (engineering or metal work). A fabrication and fitting qualification or time served apprenticeship would be an advantage.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of tacking flanges, elbows and pipework together and fabrication of both mild and stainless steel.

The main duties of the role are:

  • Read, interpret and follow engineering plans, drawings and instructions to ensure exact specifications of output
  • Fabricating work in various gauge metals (light to medium)
  • Grinding/polishing fabricated items by using various handheld tools and/or dedicated material finishing machinery
  • Assembly of finished machined painted and fabricated items to meet the customers specification.
  • Ensure production times are met.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
  • Maintain machinery and tools using preventative maintenance methods
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Candidates will need to have good communication, verbal and written skills, along
with being organised and having an eye for detail.

Fabricator – MIG/Tig Welder - Blaenavon

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a number of Fabricator – MIG/Tig Welders based in Blaenavon, Wales.

The Fabricator – MIG/Tig Welder is responsible for the fabrication and welding of light to medium gauge steel in line with the detailed engineering drawing provided, occasionally liaising with other departments of the fabrication shop to ensure the fabrication is to the standard required.

Our ideal candidate will have a Fabrication and/or Welding qualification or time served apprenticeship. Experience of working in a fabrication environment (engineering or metal work) is essential.

Mechanical Fitter/Package Build Assembler

The Mechanical Fitter/Package Build Assembler will lead and help develop the package build, ensuring the achievement of manufacturing goals related to quality, delivery and safety are met.  

For this role you will need to have experience and knowledge of working with different materials of construction (mild/carbo/stainless/aluminium/nonferrous).  You will also need understanding and experience in the specifications, standards and expectations of supplying equipment within the petrochemical industry.   A Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience is desirable.

The main duties of the role are:

  • The assembly of mechanical fabrications using basic hand, electric and pneumatic tools.  
  • The assembly of large bore (up to 300mm) carbon and stainless-steel flanged process pipework including connections to silencers, valves and control equipment.
  • The building of blower units to specification.
  • The forming, installation and termination of stainless-steel instruments, process pipework and associated controls.
  • The manufacture of minor brackets and similar small fabrications using hand and power tools

Supply Chain Trainee

The Supply Chain Trainee will provide support to the Supply Chain Team with delivering excellent service to all departments in the business. Proactively developing knowledge and experience of the supply chain process in order to become an efficient and effective member of the team.

This role would ideally suit somebody who is enthusiastic and has an interest in pursuing a career in Supply Chain Management.  Candidates must be able to show their commitment to development and the role, and have a strong desire to learn. 

For this role candidates will need to have GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade 4 or above.  Experience in the use of the Microsoft package is essential.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Proactively develop knowledge and skills to contribute to the running of an effective supply chain department:
  • Assist with monitoring stock levels and ensuring stores have adequate supplies 
  • Undertake routine administrative tasks 
  • Undertake record keeping, filing, data input and retrieval, scanning and uploading of documents to the relevant system 
  • Placing internal folios
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing queries related to purchased goods and services 
  • Liaise with and develop effective relationships with external suppliers and internal customers
  • Support the stores area with the goods in process  
  • Willingness to learn the goods inwards inspection criteria and the use of inspection equipment
