MECHANICAL FITTER/PACKAGE BUILD ASSEMBLER

The Mechanical Fitter/Package Build Assembler will lead and help develop the package build, ensuring the achievement of manufacturing goals related to quality, delivery and safety are met.

For this role you will need to have experience and knowledge of working with different materials of construction (mild/carbo/stainless/aluminium/nonferrous).  You will also need understanding and experience in the specifications, standards and expectations of supplying equipment within the petrochemical industry.   A Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience is desirable.

The main duties of the role are:

  • The assembly of mechanical fabrications using basic hand, electric and pneumatic tools.  
  • The assembly of large bore (up to 300mm) carbon and stainless-steel flanged process pipework including connections to silencers, valves and control equipment.
  • The building of blower units to specification.
  • The forming, installation and termination of stainless-steel instruments, process pipework and associated controls.
  • The manufacture of minor brackets and similar small fabrications using hand and power tools

Fabrication and Package Team Leader

The Fabrication and Package Team Leader will be responsible for the efficient and safe operations in the Fabrication and Pipe Fitting Shops. Overseeing package builds to completion and specification whilst providing hands on support.

For this role you will need to have experience and knowledge of welding techniques and welding procedures/specifications as applicable to ferrous, non-ferrous and exotic alloys.

You will also need knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and have the ability to evaluate and analyse associated costs.  

A Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience is desirable.  A Visual Inspection Welding Certificate or similar qualification is essential in this role. 

The main duties of the role are:

  • Assisting with ‘Quality’ and ‘Health & Safety’ implementation of safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements related to all aspects of the shop operation
  • Read, interpret and follow engineering plans, drawings and instructions to ensure exact specifications of output
  • Planning and delegation of work to team members
  • Proactively developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with and between all departments
  • Providing hands on advice to other team members in production, as required, together with pre-production checking of drawings and works orders
  • Control and implementation of welding department quality, documentation and efficient function
  • Fabricating/welding work in various metals 
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet quality standard
  • Ensure production times are met 
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
  • Maintain machinery and tools using preventative maintenance methods
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Project Engineer (E&I /Mechanical)

Due to our continual production expansion, we are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer (Mechanical and/or E&I).

For this role candidates will need to hold a suitable engineering qualification or have proven experience.

This role would ideally suit somebody who values the importance of attention to detail and has the ability to work using their own initiative whilst also being part of a team. Excellent communication skills and being commercially aware are essential for the role. Oil and gas experience would be an asset but you could equally be from a capital equipment or similar background.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Required to run and control all aspects of design and production of custom-built packages handling a variety of gases.
  • The raising of purchase order specifications and bills of materials ensuring project costs are monitored and maintained.
  • Raising technical specifications for steel work/piping components, (mechanical), and/or motors/instruments (E&I) and all necessary supporting items.
  • Working with the design team (drawing office) to produce required technical drawings for both production and client’s requirements.
  • Assist in the scheduling and monitoring of timescales.
  • Liaising directly with clients to ensure requirements are met and engineering specifications complied with.
  • Understanding and complying with regulatory processes.
  • Controlling the manufacture of pressure vessels to ASME VIII & PD5500 and liaising with outside vendors.
  • Understanding of material specifications.
  • Understanding of IEC standards (E&I).

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to be flexible for business requirements.

Your role will be to maintain the companies ISO 9001 accreditation and implement improvements where identifiable and contribute to regulatory and compliance activities.

Our ideal candidate will have a HNC/HND in Quality, Engineering or equivalent.  You will also need a good understanding of Quality Management Systems ISO9001.

You will need to have knowledge and/or demonstrable experience of working with and confirming to the requirements and expectations of the Petrochemical Industries Standards.  

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Maintain companies ISO 9001 accreditation and implement improvements where identifiable and appropriate
  • Working closely with the manufacturing, design and sales departments, on process validation, control, and procedural improvements
  • Ensuring project level compliances are met and adhered to
  • Investigating quality issues, understanding component interaction, driving to root cause and implementing corrective actions
  • Working with suppliers and internal departments to improve the overall end to end process
  • Conducting risk assessments where require
  • Developing protocols for inspection and evaluation of data
  • Advising and training colleagues on aspects of quality management
  • Internal auditing/preparing reports to evaluate effectiveness of quality systems
  • Providing support for customers in terms of complaint handling, customer returns and ongoing quality support
  • Working and liaising with HS responsible persons to ensure conformance with current legisilation and best working practices
  • Ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained at every stage of production
  • Assisting with non-conformance investigations
  • Ensuring Quality/inspection paperwok completed as required
  • Ensuring that Quality/inspection procedures are followed

For this role you will need to be innovating and solutions orientated with an eye for accuracy and detail.  

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage a workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.

Candidates will need to self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance for themselves and for others.
